The Old Vicarage Local Area

The Old Vicarage is conveniently located just 5 miles north of the maritime town of Falmouth. The area has a strong sailing heritage with the waters of the beautiful Carrick Roads being close by. The lovely villages of Mylor, Flushing and Restronguet, either on the waterside or close by it, are all within a short distance.

The principal Penryn Campus for the university lies between us and Falmouth, making The Old Vicarage an ideal stopover when dropping off, collecting or visiting your student offspring!

The cathedral city of Truro is about 7 miles away. With its mix of Georgian and Victorian properties lining its cobbled streets, Truro has probably the widest range of facilities in Cornwall including excellent shopping, restaurants and bars, a cinema and its own theatre/venue 'Hall for Cornwall'.

The north coast of Cornwall, famous of course for its sandy beaches, towering cliffs and surf culture, is only about 6 miles away. The stunning Roseland peninsula with waterside St Mawes its jewel, is very easily accessible via the King Harry car ferry. The beautiful scenery of the Lizard peninsula, much in the care of the National Trust, is reached via the historic town of Helston about 10 miles distant.
